UPDATE NEWS: The term now has one Optional commandline paramter. Optional
meaning NOT NECESSARY. The term has built into it some
auto-detection routines which should on most standard IBM's
auto-detect which communications port you are using. However,
if this should fail to detect which com port you are currently
active on then you can FORCE the com port with a commandline
parameter.
i.e:
c:\>BG-TERM COM1
[COM1,COM2,COM3,COM4]
Also Fossil support has been added for those users that are
running under non-standard IRQ's or would prefer to use a
fossil driver. You can set the term to use fossil via the
BGTCFG.EXE program. Run this program and it will allow you
to toggle between FOSSIL or UART. <DEFAULT IS UART>

GET STARTED FAST
To play BATTLE GRID all that is necessary is to log onto a BBS that
is running the BATTLE GRID host version and follow the simple steps
listed below:
1. Activate BATTLE GRID as you would any other ANSI door
on the BBS.
2. Wait a few seconds for the HOST version to load and you
will then be prompted with this question:
"DO YOU HAVE BATTLE GRID GRAPHIC TERM VERSION 3.5 [Y/N]"
3. Answering 'NO' to this question will allow you to Download
the Latest VERSION of the terminal software directly from
BATTLE GRID. This will be useful in the future for easy
upgrades and getting the TERM for other products by L.I.
It will step you through with some simple questions and
then immedietly go into ZMODEM transfer. After the
transfer is complete you will be given instructions on
how to begin the game immediatly after decompression.
4. Answering 'YES' to this question will then prompt you this
response:
"SHELL FROM YOUR TERMINAL PROGRAM AND RUN BATTLE GRID NOW."
Here, you should SHELL FROM your ANSI terminal software
and then type 'BG-TERM.EXE'. BATTLE GRID will automatically
detect which COM port you are using and begin a game session.
If BATTLE GRID does not auto detect your com port you can force
the com port by appending COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4 to the
commandline of Battle Grid: i.e
C:\>BG-TERM COM1
5. After ending your game session, simply type 'EXIT' at
the dos prompt and you should return safely to your
terminal software and continue with normal operations.
For details concerning how to play BATTLE GRID getting some insight
into the strategies and workings of the game refer to BGRID.DOC.
***NOTE: You may also run the terminal side of Battle Grid as
an external protocal. Consult the manual of your
respective Terminal Software in regards on how to do
this.

USING OTHER TERMINAL PACKAGES WITH BATTLE GRID
****************************************************************************
There are a couple of important options that must be addressed to
ensure that Battle Grid works properly.
I. Make sure that the terminal package you own has the capability to
SHELL.
II. When you SHELL make sure that your terminal package can SWAP out of
memory...that way Battle Grid has plenty of memory to load in. It
will require at least 475K to be safe.
III. Also, make sure that your terminal package is set to use Hardware
flow control over Software flow control. Battle Grid will work
faster that way.
If you have any trouble getting our term to work with your term then please
call us at :(904)/241-6301 and we'd be glad to assist you in getting our
term to work properly with your terminal package. Thank you. If you
have a term not listed here...and have successfully gotten it to work then
please call us and upload the necessary information that you were required
to set to get Battle Grid to work with your terminal.
